Position Overview
We are hiring a CDL-A Lead Driver / Fleet Support to serve as a key operational leader within our linehaul network.This is a hybrid role combining driving responsibilities with operational support. You will act as a backup driver, night operations coordinator, and on-the-ground problem solver ensuring all runs are covered and executed safely and on time.This role is ideal for experienced drivers who want more responsibility, higher earning potential, and a path into operations leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Driving (Primary)
Execute assigned and backup FedEx linehaul runs safely and on scheduleProvide coverage for call-outs, vacations, and overflow routesMaintain DOT compliance and safe driving standards

Fleet & Operations Support
- Provide night and off-hour coverage for active runs
- Monitor fleet activity and respond to delays, breakdowns, and incidents
- Communicate directly with drivers to resolve issues in real time
- Escalate critical issues with clear updates

Driver Coordination
- Assist with scheduling adjustments and run coverage
- Maintain strong communication with drivers across all routes

Incident Management
- Review safety events and service disruptionsFollow up with drivers and document issuesSupport continuous improvement in safety and performance

Maintenance Coordination
-Identify and escalate mechanical issues early
- Coordinate with maintenance vendors when needed
- RequirementsValid CDL-A License
- 2+ years OTR or linehaul driving experienceClean driving record
- Strong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications
- FedEx Linehaul experience
- Experience handling breakdowns, delays, or dispatch coordination
- Interest in growing into an operations or management role
